Technical Headlight out on dipped, fine on full beam

Last night i found the offside dipped headlight wasnt working however it is fine on full beam, which has confused me as its the same bulb.

All connections seem fine, bulbs are Halfords extra bright models of some kind.

Has anyone else had this problem and know of a fix?

Did a search but couldnt find a thread with the exact problem

same bulb yes BUT they have 2 filaments one does high beam and the other does the headlamps

as much as i liked the high output bulbs i had on my gp i got fed up of changing the wretched things every 6 months or so (same with the car before as well)

Thanks Andy,

Bulbs are less than 6 months old, might change back to standards as at £20 a pop I'm not paying it every 6 months

did you keep your original bulbs when you changed them just stick it back in to confirm it is the bulb

Halfords bulbs are awesome for light output but the time they last is awful.

Had Osram Nightbreakers in my GP for 18 months before one of them went.

Not bad, and they were £18 or something at the time.
