General gearbox fitted. good. now its the carbureta?!!

fitted new clutch and reconditioned gearbox. went to start up and the carbureta wouldn't stop choking itself. choke fine. took apart and cleaned all the jets. refitted all nicely. managed to start with heavy revving to test the gearbox which works fine! but the car wont stay started, fills up with petrol and splutters to death. fuel lines free. what the hell do i do?
this panda is cursed.

I'm fine (except the carb on the 1000CL. Are we sure it's a problem/fault? Not just need adjusting?

adjust what? the jets have all been cleaned springs, bearing choke throttle fuel lines. found a dodgy solenoid in electric plug thing (wouldn't go up) so cut end off so fuel can flow (on advice of mechanic amigo). idle speed ok. could it be a problem elsewhere? mis-firing like a bastard.

John...cutting it wont work..its a plunger. As you my now know it sorts out the fuel at tickover..when you drive along the punger changes...mine is fine when driving but a pig at tickover!!!! See my reply on the nitro post to you.
