General Gear Knob

Wen i got my car the guy i bougt it of gave me a universal gearknob and some other bits, so i did a search on here to see how to get the gear knob off and all i could find was fitting the gearknob with an omp adapter does this mean there is no way i can fit it or is it possible to cut it away then fit it! It just goes over the pole and is held inplace with a grub screw! if it is possible and someone has done it can you please post pictures!

It all depends on what car/gearbag you have. There is no one simple answer.

The OMP adaptor allows you to engage reverse if your car has lift up reverse.

Without it you cant reverse

Sorry forgot to say mines a cinquecento not updated my signature so it doesnt say anymore! Well you push mine down for reverse but there is a plastic sleeve over the top of the metal shaft that moves down when you push it, so would it be possible to cut the gearknob of that and mount the new one on it!
