Technical Fitting rubber grommet (Cruise Control)G

Guys help im having problems. I was trying to fit the cruise control today so i reached to the step of the rubber grommet but alas i had a tube for the sunroof going through with it anyways i passed a wire side by side the tube and i couldnt fit the rubber grommet again on the firewall. i thought it was cause it was too big cause of the wires but i tried again only with the tube and cant get enough leverage to push it back in only halfway. what do i do ? im afraid to leave it half on in case i get water inside.

Not sure which grommet you're having a problem with, but if it's just an ordinary rubber grommet that fits into a hole then put some liquid soap on it first. Washing up liquid works well.

its the rubber grommet that is in the diy of the cruise control where you pass the cables to the engine bay
