General Fiat Strada 2006 1.7 D/T

Hi

I have just recently bought a second hand 1.7 diesel Strada. I would like to know what mods can be done to the engine?
eg. Air filter, Exhaust, Intercooler, chip - to give it a bit more power at take off and 120km plus cruising.
I do not want to do anything to the turbo or the motor as such and I do not want the consumption to go up crazily either.

Hi

I have removed the entire exhaust from the manifold and replaced it with a 50mm pipe and two smaller freeflow boxes. Removed the very front box as well which I think is a cat.
The turbo lag is definately much less and the motor pulls much stronger. It gets to the red line and still feels like it wants to carry on. Traffic light to traffic light it is much quicker.
And best of all it is no noisier than what it was before. I will check fuel consumption over time but I suspect I will be using the extra power any way.
Next is a K&N airfilter.
