Technical Fiat Siena 1.6 16v 2000

Hi there

I just redid the head gasket of my fiat and was wondering how do i do with the timming belt is there a specific way of puting it back together?

Also i got in the car 2 weeks ago and at random and my reverse and 5th gear is not selecting:bang:,the clutch kit is about 3 months old and all the other gears select with ease.

If someone could guide me please im new at this

Dear Berne,

@gearselecting problem: could it be that the "safety thingy" on the gear selector is loose?
On the gearstick is a ring that needs to be lifted to select reverse, if it is floating free it might get in the way of 5th and reverse.

Thanx for the replay,on the fiat siena 1.6 16v i have if i pull the stick all the way to the right down and its in revers.

Do you mabe know anything about the timming marks,how to get the teeth allign.
