I already hi-jacked one thread so figured I needed my own.

I bought a 2005 Ulysse and after driving it for a few miles, the engine cut out with the engine anti-pollution message. Garage took the car back to fix and it turns out I ran out of fuel - the gauge showed just under quarter of a tank. They had to replace the fuel sensor. Sound plausible?

On the only occasion that I ran out of diesel, (on the test drive, by the way), my car flashed up engine management light and anti- pollution warning, but after filling it up, both disappeared. With hindsight I think I was being sent a warning which I didn`t heed!!

Thanks - yes, its def out of fuel problem. I filled it up from just when the orange light came on and it took 83 litres so I guess the fuel gauge is still a little generous.....
