Dumb girl needs help!

Hi,
I have a 1.6 Brava Auto on a 1996 plate. When I start it from cold it starts first time but once I turn it off it wont start again for about an hour (unless I get it jump started). I've just had a new battery, cylander head, cam belt and the timings adjusted. Is the new battery defective or is a sign of something else being wrong?

New cylider head? I take it the head gasket blew?
Sounds like there's a sensor not been put back correctly / damaged during the work. I'd take it back and tell them to fix it.
