Technical doblo rear door lock

rear door, lock broken its called barn door on my fiat doblo ,question is do i have to replace it with a central locking one that is on it now or can i ,fit a non central locking one and just use a key ,these are half the price any help ?

Hi. Which model of dobie? Twin door or hatchback / Year. What is broken, what works and what doesn't? The lock itself maybe the same, with an electric actuator attached, some of which have a weak plastic connector part which can be replaced by 'heath robinson' diy.

my model doblo is a 2003 1.9td elx jtd central lock works on the back door but handle wont open from outside when lock off have had a look i can see small pin with a spring that should go in and out but doesent new central lock is 100 pound but i can get one for 45 without central locking but dont know if it will fit

9 times out of 10 that spring & pin assembly just needs lubricating - use WD40, nothing heavier.
