General Did the X1/9 ever come out with LH and RH side mirrors?

Hi from Australia!
This is my very first post.
I have just purchased a 1979 1300 4 speed X1/9.
Did the car ever come out with both LH and RH side mirrors fitted? Currently my car only has the RH one fitted.

My '78 only has RH, so I'm assuming that is how they were released in Aus.

Yeah, originally ADR only required a RH mirror so lots of older cars are missing them.

Hi Wayne, welcome to our corner of the internet!

X1/9s did only come into Aus with the RHS wing mirror, but there were LHS ones made, for the LHD market. I happen to have one that came with the box of spares when I bought my car, and after tossing up whether or not to fit it to the car, I put it back in the box. The blind spot that the mirror would cover is so small due to the matchbox size of an Exxy, that a head check will very quickly tell you if a car is hiding there.

I'm pretty sure anything post '83 had both of the glass mounted mirrors - at least in the UK and the LHS is certainly harder to find second hand over here...
