Hi All

2012 Fiat 500 clutch pipes have failed Tried a repair and failed so need to replace the master and slave clutch pipe

Does anyone know the part numbers ? FIAT want £600 and won’t release the part number

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Issues with the clutch hydraulics are extremely common, and frequently reported here.

As far as I'm aware, the pipes aren't available separately, and there won't be any part numbers for them.

Most folks have found that once the clutch hydraulics start giving trouble, the best course of action is to replace both slave and master cylinder complete. If you do this using OEM parts, they'll come with all the necessary pipework and connectors, and are even prefilled with hydraulic fluid.

But that's an expensive option, as you've found out. Aftermarket parts are usually much cheaper, but availability of these has been an issue recently.

The pipework can always be repaired using generic tubing and connectors, which some folks here have done successfully.

Once the car is more than a year or two old, the quick connector between the two pipes cannot usually be removed without ruining it. This is in itself a common failure point, but it can be replaced with a generic fitting.

Thank you so much for your reply

Would this be the full part which includes the pipes ?

That's half of it.

You also need the slave cylinder and its associated pipework

Also have a look on the gsf website; you may find the same parts for a little less.

@koalar often knows the cheapest place to buy parts like these.

If it is ONLY the pipe thats the issue not one of the components then it MIGHT be possible to have a new pipe made !.
Google "hydraulic pipe suppliers"in your area and see what comes up then give them a phone call to see if they can help you?.
A company such as Pirtek should be able to make something up!.
You will probably have to take the complete part in to them so they can check and match the fittings and pipe contours! to the originals.
However if you are in any doubt as to the condition of either the master or slave cylinders then you should replace them as well!, they may or may not come with new pipes so check first before ordering, you may need both a new component and new pipes made!.
good luck sorting it!
