jug blessed are the apostates Parked in the garage Joined Nov 28, 2005 Messages 27,935 Points 3,763 Location Durham Mar 19, 2008 #2 it will only show up on a diagnostic if it is out so much that misfiring is occuring, in which case you'll get misfire fault codes. a compression test is a quick and easy way to see if the timing is out, low compression on all cylinders means the timing is out.
