Cat1 alarm with factory Immobiliser?

Just wondering whether a Cat1 alarm with work together with the standard factory fitted immobiliser on a Fiat?
I only ask as most of the Cat1 alarms say to use with a Cat2 Immobiliser

basically its an upgrade kit then.
eg it utilises the alarm and the cento (for example)has a thatcham 2 immob so adding the alarm brings the package to Cat 1

So is the factory Fiat Immob a Cat2? if not, can u still use an upgrade kit with the factory Fiat Immob?

yes and yes to a point.the fiat transponder immob is thatcham 2(as most are now)but it can be added to a non thatcham 2 immob system also.
to declare it to your insurer as thatcham 1 it must be pro installed by a thatcham certified installer and be in conjunction with a thatcham 2 immob.

U got any idea of price for fitting by a thatcham certified installer?

no idea but this is why its often cheaper to buy the alarm fitted as they make profit on the alarm and install.
if you bought the alarm on its own its pure labour for them
