General Anybody got a spare wheel?

Hello all,

I'm wondering if anyone who is going to Gaydon on Sunday has a spare wheel they would like to get rid of for a few quid? My wheel painting project hasn't got started yet and including the 4 on the car and 1 in the car I have 8 wheels... this leaves me one short of being able to drive the car every day and prep and paint 4 wheels over the course of leisurely week or two...

Anyway if you are and you do then I'd appreciate it very much...

Way i did it luke was to paint spare fully on weekend. Monday, take one off and put spare one, clean and prime the one you took off, then use that as spare, next night paint it, use as spare again. and so on.. Takes ages though, and not nice in the cold!

To be honest that was what I was thinking of doing initially but I would rather get as much done in as short a time as possible and I'm dreaming of a 4x4 so to have a full set of wheels as spares with the off-road tyres on would be really useful...

Do you think there'd be any advantage to painting the wheels without the tyres on?

No, more hasslie i reckon. The only annoying bit is the valve cap.. the way i got round that was to cut a finger off a rubber glove.. rest is a doddle really, apart from the odd lip on the wheel. Small 1/2 inch paint brush sort that out

What colour/ type you going for?
