Our 1.9 JTD Doblo starts and runs very well but has an intermittent fault that is very irritating - it usually happens within the first half hour of setting off when slowing down at traffic lights or to turn a corner. The engine stutters and misfires or backfires and the issue can only be resolved by turning the engine off and on again. The problem does not then usually reoccur for the rest of the day. We tried changing the crankshaft sensor on a friend's suggestion but it made no difference. Someone else suggested air in the system but the fault never happens when we want it to i.e. at a garage so it is very hard to diagnose. Any suggestions?
