Technical 2002 1.9d dobby wont start/turn over

hi guys my reliable (till now) 2002 dobby suddenly wont start, when I turn the key there is absolutely nothing no click of a solenoid not a bloody iota. when the key is turned the lighs don't dim or anything , the battery has a good 12v the earth is good, ive used a slave earth to establish this so does anyone have any ideas last night it was fine this morning no response there have been no issues prior to this. so does anyone have any ideas or solutions so I can get back to work and earn a crust.many thanks in anticipation.mike

Absolutely same symptoms on my 2002 1.9JTD day before Christmas.New starter motor and away we went.
