Ducato 2000 2.8td Niesman Bischoff Motorhome - Hills!!!

Good afternoon!
Being a newbie to both owning a motorhome and this site, I’m hoping somebody can help me with an issue…

The motorhome seems sluggish going uphill, and I find myself working the gears.
There is no smoke, no squealing, just a lack of power. I was thinking that this may be an issue with the waste gate, but have taken the vehicle to 2 garages who are unable to connect to the diagnostics to confirm.

Does the 2000 ducato 2.8td have a diagnostics port?

Does this sound like a problem with the turbo/waste gate or is my motorhome just going to be bit a bit sluggish up hills?

I suspect that your motorhome weighs in excess of 3500kg. If your problem is that you making frequent changes between 4th and 5th, then a change of fifth gear ratio may help.
