Hi all from France :)
I have some issues with my 1992's Tempra SX 1.4, here the description.

The first issue is that randomly, when i am changing gear (from 3 to 2 most often), the battery and oil icons on the dashboard light up and motor stop. Sometime we can pass the problem pressing the gas pedal so that the engine is running again.

The last issue is the most annoying. Randomly, while moving with the car, there is no more electricity in the car (no ligths on the dashboard, no radio, no headlights, no brake lights, ...) but engine is still running.

I wonder if someone of this huge community has already encounter these issues or if someone could help me to solve that !

Thanks for answering and sorry for my bad english.

Hi. It sounds to me like you have a bad connection either on a main fuse or an earth lead. Check all you cables at the battery for security and check the earth lead from the battery to the chassis and then the gearbox. Make sure this cable is not corroded or loose.

Hi i check all you told me in your previous message and no problem. A friend is checking the "platine fuses" (don't know how it is called in english) and he's trying to weld and weld connections again but it is worst. Do you know how many this piece can cost in a garage ?
Thanks in advance for your help
