(T) Tempra 5 speed gearbox

Can anybody out there tell what other types of gearbox will fit into and L Reg Fiat Tempra. The Car in question is a 1.9 Diesel - not a turbo version, it seems a shame to scrap the car as the engine is excellent, suffered from a spigot bearing collapse and ruined the gearbox

The Tipo seems to be the only beast that used the same donkey.

If you stick your engine number in here I can have a search for any others...

I dare say all the diesel Tipo`s & Tempra`s use the same box, although the ratios may be slightly different on the non turbo & 1.7 ones.

This shouldnt make a huge amount of difference & at least it`ll get it back on the road.

I may be wrong, but I`d give it a shot if it was mine.

There are a few TD`s being broken on ebay, I guess it depends where you are.

I too would like to know what the ratios for the 1.9 tipo engine are.

This is the Tempra ones from my handbook.

I cant find my Tipo/Tempra manual, but I`m guessing they will be the same.

Thanks for the information, have had no luck in the local scrapyards in the Rotterdam area, it seems the gearboxes are a good seller over here, will still have to continue searching, again thanks
