Posts: 21 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | Clutch not working well cold I have a 1995 Tempra 1.6ie SX and lately have been experiencing issues in selecting gears. On a cold start first thing in the morning, the gear are a bit difficult to select and the 2nd crunches every time I use it for the first few minutes. I replaced the clutch last August and had the gearbox opened as I had the main bearing replaced. The oil is filled nearly to the brim, as at first I thought that since it is worse in cold, it must be the oil. But apparently it is not. I thought that I might check the gear linkage (right under the gearbox) to see whether there is any corrosion there. Any pointers please?

| | Re: Clutch not working well cold I can say that my 1992 Tempra does the same, 2nd gear makes some "grind" when enters and the 1st gear enters very difficulty, but when the engine is warm then gears are ok. Don't know what the problem can be, my clutch still is the original one and I never had the gearbox oil level checked.
