Hi folks,
Can anyone tell me what a part of my hydraulic clutch system is called? It looks like a rear wheel brake cylinder and is inline on the hydraulic feed to the slave cylinder. It is bolted on to the bulk head and has a feed going into it, another one out of it by means of a flexi that runs to the slave cylinder. It also has a bleed nipple on it.
I lost my clutch pedal and an investigation has shown this part to be completely corroded through with a resultant leak and loss of pressure.
Fiat themselves are perplexed..lol!!

Answers on a postcard, please :(

thank you :)

Complete vehicle details would help ? car - van - motorhome - engine - year etc etc

Ach...sorry folks!! I originally had put all that down but it glitched and I lost everything. I had to write it all again.

Multipla 1.9JTD 115 on a 55' plate..lol!!

The parts catalogue doesn't show anything except for the master and slave cylinders. Does it look original?

ePER, the parts listing shows a remote reservoir with a pipe to the master cylinder to feed it. Then a steel pipe from the master cylinder to the slave. I think the steel pipe includes a flexi bit along its length.

So, are you interpreting the master cylinder as being midway in the system, as the reservoir is remote from it?

We had an issue with the steel pipe rotting through a while ago, sorted by sourcing one from a scrap car I think. I think a new one from Fiat was either no longer available, or at least £100. Might be possible for a local hydraulic hose specialist to make one using the old one as a template, and probably using the original end fittings.

If it is the master cylinder, that is reasonably easy to change.

Having trouble.posting what I want to say.....
t cost me £164!! It is the same part you are showing, Davren, but it didn't show up on the Fiat dealers schematic either. What exactly is this part? Other than the obvious bleed nipple, what is its function? The body of this cylinder part was.completely corroded on my existing one. Rusted right through causing a leak and loss off clutch pedal. I hope that once the new part is fitted and bled, that should be me back on the road...hallelujah!! ?

This part was a complete mare to fit!! It's on now but struggling to bleed it up. Any ideas? I will send the VIN to you as soon as I get a chance.

Hang fire...it's coming through now, after like 'fifteen minutes' of pumping and going through the motions :)

As we say in Scotland....it's gubbed!!
