Posted this in the doblo specific forum but didn't get any replies so hopefully a wider audience can help.

A few issues that may or may not be related

Stop Start:

During the summer, when I have the heaters in the van turned all the way down and the air con on, the Stop Start system works perfectly. However in winter when I have the heater turned up, I often get a warning that the Stop Start system has failed and I have to check the engine. In addition, the water temp gauge suddenly falls to zero. It'll creep back up now and again then fall away suddenly. If it stays up constantly then it sits lower than it normally would if the Stop Start was working and the air from the vents doesn't feel as hot on the maximum setting.

I've checked with Multi ECU Scan and I'm not seeing any errors stored. Very strange. I'm guessing it's something to do with a temp sensor or the thermostat????

Dash Warning Lights:

This just happened fairly recently. There are two lights very faintly illuminated on the dash. One appears to be the DPF light and the other is an image of the van with the bonnet open and it's red. Again they are just very faintly illuminated. When I turn the ignition on the DPF light properly fully illuminates for a second then goes to this faint illumination and the other light is also showing faintly.

Again no errors showing in ECU Scan. Interestingly I don't need to put the key in the ignition to get them to light up. Simply unlocking the doors and opening them gets them to light up so I'm guessing it's a short circuit somewhere??? Any ideas where to start looking for that :bang:

Yes but warning lights shouldn't be faintly on. They're on proper or they're off

The fact they come on as soon as I unlock the central locking and they also stay illuminated for a bit after I turn the ignition off and remove the key.

Yes but not every recall applies to every car. I phoned Fiat and gave my reg and the only one that applied was the Instrument panel and it was done back in 2011.

Thanks Ken

Someone may correct me but with the Stop Start I think several things have to be correct before it will let the engine stop. Battery fully charged, Engine hot, no faults,
Is it possible using the heater lowers the engine temp enough to stop it working?
I can tell you a non working egr valve stops mine working.
I think they are a pain in the backside. Bloody batteries are double the price

Regards Ken

I was able to get Multi ECU Scan connected while the SS had failed and the dash warning light was illuminated.

There's an error code showing relating to the water temp sensor. I reset the error and the SS works again. I tried to get to the sensor plug on the thermostat but it was a pain to get the plug off. I didn't have time to start stripping bits away to get better access. The van's due for a service in a few weeks so I'll just get the mechanic to take a look then.

I also got a warning light about a short circuit in the ABS system. I'm wondering if that's related to the faintly illuminated warning lights.

I also checked the DPF and EGR status and both are fine. Normal clogging on the DPF and regen has happened about 200 miles ago.

EGR results all seemed ok and I was able to activate it ok and I can hear the solenoid clicking.
