Hi guys, and thanks for having me ?

Right, I'm sure you have all heard this issue before, as I have had numerous google searches that have brought me to your pages and threads, but I'm hoping you can help me out with some step by step guidance.
My perfectly reliable Doblo cargo 1.9 derv is trying to kill me!
It has started to cut out on journeys taking pas with it.
I have had no issues with engine warning light or struggles with idle speed or hunting revs.
It will die, after around 2 miles, then won't start unless I give it around 5 minutes. Once it restarts, it literally dies within 400 metres and the cycle continues, won't restart for 5 minutes etc.
I have changed the fuel filter but still got the issue.
I'm not very knowledgable at carrying out repairs, but if given simple instructions, usually manage to muddle through (previously on my trusty old Rover!)
I've read from you guys that the Lucas fuel filter struggles pulling the fuel through the filter from the tank, but then get kinda lost on which pipes or valves I should be changing out.
Also, I was told by a local parts supplier that I would need to go direct to Fiat for replacement pipes, I.e, the ones running between pump and filter etc, does that sound correct?
I'm gonna try and attach a photo so hopefully someone will be able to tell me which pipe/part does what.
Any help greatly received as at the moment, my poor Doblo is sitting unloved on my driveway.

Thanks Rimbo

Hi Rimbo, and welcome to FF,

at 2002 it's at an awkward age.. where it's relatively complex - but the diagnostics haven't quite caught up.

have you tried towstarting it once it's cut-out,
if it's NOT needing to REST for 5 mins - then it's NOT temperature related at least

fuelling can be a nightmare,
one of the best things is to try and get figures for the pressures at injection.

in the meantime - reply to this thread;

where is the van based..? ,
