Hiya All

I'm new to the forum and was hoping You could shed some help on My 2010 Facelift Fiat Doblo SX Van.

Basically I purchased my Van approx 2 months ago, travelled over 100 miles for it and when I first got it the Start stop worked instantly with no issues.

Over the last month I noticed the Start stop started to work less and less until it completely stopped working, No Yellow Triangle and No Unavailable message, it is if the start stop has completely disappeared.

I heard that it may be due to a low battery so took to Halfords and got a FREE Battery test in which they said battery was running at 90% so not the battery. Anyways the other day I was driving the van and im ashamed to admit it i stalled it and to my shock the S Symbol appeared on the dash and message 'press clutch' pushed in the clutch pedal and it started again. Continued my journey and when i stopped at every journey i got the message 'Start Stop Unavailable' on screen but engine didnt switch off.

Got to my destination and switched the engine off but when i returned to use the van later in the day it was back to before, No Start Stop and No Unavailable message on the dash.

Does anyone know what the issue is and what the fix is?

Please Help

Start/Stop will not operate if it thinks there is a risk of not starting. Battery at 90% could be the problem.
If you stall, it will try to restart, which it did, but it still chooses not to turn the engine off itself.
Don't skimp on the battery. Must be the correct Stop/Start item, sadly lots of pennies. An ordinary battery is unlikely to last until Christmas!

seriously at 90% there is a chance that the start stop still wont work? Halfords informed battery and alternator is working correctly with no issues

I don't know what the parameters are, but at 90% I'd expect the stop/start to not function. After a cold start it won't work for some time, until the battery recovers completely.
The batteries are expensive. The stop/start saves a tiny amount of fuel. If you can live without stop/start, keep going without until the battery loses enough to need replacement.

Did the use the correct battery tester? The dealer has a correct type of tester, witch cost around 2000 euro's to test these battery's correctly. Using the wrong tester will lead to the wrong diagnose.

You have a 450EN2 battery out of my head, the testers that halford (etc) use, dont support the EN2 battery.
