coming home from work the other day went to over take and seen a cloud of black smoke 1st time ever.. iam getting 70 mpg at the mo so then the engine managment light comes on I went on to the garage.. the light went off continued home just before getting home I revved here on the engine man light came on again and she stopped sat on the hard shoulder for a few minutes and away she went again I had an issue like this before it was crank sensor had this changed and no probs till now...

it seems to be when you rev over 2k the man light comes on feel like no power and then she cuts out to stop any damage I feel like its the turbo any ideas my mechanic cant get reading the codes so have to wait till Friday

she seems ok as long as you don't rev over 2k any one had this before or have any ideas??

HIGH rev's is one think.. but @2K the turbo is just starting to spool..,

aye that's what I was thinking (the turbo would just be kicking in 2-2.5k revs)then the engine management light comes on and knocks her off my nephew says she would be drinking oil and whistling if turbo was blew and to check if theres any pipes connected to turbo off anywhere etc

ok so a few days and so I have removed the egr full assembly +turbo inlet with vacuum that control flap, fuel pump, injector rail and 2 injectors from the donor doblo sorry I didn't get a chance to take pics etc but what a few hours that was....

I had to take of egr and fuel rail to get access to the fuel pump nuts took a few hours to do all this leaving my donor engine bay with a lot of room

egr sensor and turbo in let pipe it has a vacuum and internal flap that opens and closes saving of £200 odd.... thing I found the inlet pipe was full of crud I mean there was half a coke can of sludge in there it wasn't closing properly, so get the oven cleaner out and really have it shining...I expect my good doblo's to be the same when ive swapped them..( question what does this do and whats the proper name for this piece and what are the effects if it dosent close properly?) donor part was bosch.

injector rail bog standard probably saving of £100 also bosch.

fuel pump(bosch) & black box new from fiat £1300 (crazy prices ) £300 second hand

all in all the donor dubby I bought for £150 has saved me a small fortune fingers crossed that the fuel pump is ok and my mechanic friend will have a handy time putting them on my good dubby..

things to note I had to take all these parts of just to get at the bottom nut on the fuel pump this is madness

does anyone out there have an easier why of doing this ???

hope to get mechanic to get computer on my good dubby and read the codes with the knocking and pressure coming from the old fuel pump I have got toes and all crossed that this fixes my problem he also will have few injectors incase they might be bad and a nearly new and totally clean egr and turbo inlet pipe

ps how can I check if the egr is working before I put it in????

Anyone know how to check egr before swapping or any advice on swappingll these parts
