Hi All,

My 2003 JTD runs really well, but is sluggish to start each time, almost needs an extra couple of seconds each time. I had the battery checked (Banner 480A 562 19 12v 62Ah) which was showing 90%.

Do you think this needs replacing, is it a powerful enough battery? any ideas?

slow cranking..??

or takes a while spinning over before it fires, ?

slow cranking= clean all cables on battery + starter.

slow to fire?
run the glow plugs through 3 or 4 cycles before cranking engine - if it's better then check glowplugs,

what size engine 1.3 will need less than a 1.9 / 2.0

starter motors can "choke" on their own internal dust ( from brushes).. I've recovered LAZY starters with a clean out
