Hi.
Is it possible to renew the rubber cover over the button on one of these keys? I have seen cheap replacement keys on ebay and am wondering if i can just swap the cover over on to the genuine one. Dont fancy the cost of a new key or even going to timpsons for one as they are talking a lot of money for something that in reality is most likely a ten pence part!!

Hi,
normally the actual cover is a 2piece "clamshell" ,

so you can change the battery/s - once apart you SHOULD bee able to swap the buttons..

people have varying degrees of success with the Chinese copies.. it MAY be better value to get a good used FIAT key of the correct style VIA Ebay..,

I had a looksee earlier on ebay. All seem to be what you are calling chinese copies. It was these that i had in mind regarding just changing the cover. Would anyone know where the "genuine" ones are made.
I will however take your advice and look for a good s/h one.
