I see there's an unusual type of hose clip used on the radiator hoses on my '08 Bravo, it doesn't take a screwdriver or small socket like normal jubilee clips. There's a serrated steel band with some sort of clip locking it in place.
How do you guys deal with these clips? I'm thinking they're single use only and have to be cut off and then replaced with standard hose clips? If so, what do you use to cut them? don't want to damage the hoses or rad. pipe stubs. Anyone know what they're called and if they can be reused or if same exact type is available anywhere, any special tools needed?

(I put this question in this section because it probably applies to many other modern Fiat models.)

Thanks in advance for any info.

Al.

They have a special name, and it is possible to re-use them if you have the right tool, but it is easier just to replace with jubilees.

YES -they are re-useable with a special too, :)

MOST rads use a bayonet type connection..so you remove the stub from the rad with the hose attached..,
never got my panda one to turn after @9 years though..so cut off the clip and replaced with a jubilee.. cutting through the "clamp" part of the clip @ 90%,
then use pliers/screwdriver to shear off whats left..

didn't touch the body of the hose..!!, ;)

Possibly quick release hose elbow like this?

Squeeze the 2 raised part of the clip and pull the elbow complete with hose off the radiator.

the clips are one trick pony
way to release is side cuts on the excess and roll the cuts away from clip
2 second job and no damage to inner parts and no trip to a and e
replace with stainless steel jubilee type

Squeeze the raised metal parts to get the elbow+hose part open and all the circuit liquid out?
It looks alike the one in the picture you posted.

If the elbow that connects to the radiator is hard plastic, then the clips will be squeeze to release as in my picture above.
