Re: Key Fob Batteries

You sure it's the batteries John? Mine packed up just after I bought the car but it turned out to be dirty contacts inside the fob, the battery was fine.

Make doesn't matter - just has to be CR2032.

Re: Key Fob Batteries

I had the same issue, can't remember exactly, but I don't think it was that expensive to buy a new fob, the rip off bit was the programming the transponder (or whatever it's called).

Thanks Chris, I have seen these key fobs go for cheap on ebay, and I have been tempted to go for one, but who can programme this to match the one I have for my car already.

Re: Key Fob Batteries

Both spare key (the one without buttons) and the programming came from Fiat. You should have got a little credit card shaped card with a key code on it when you got the car, you'll need this to get the new key programmed.

Re: Key Fob Batteries

I assume you can just open up the fob and change the battery without having to reset anything afterwards.
Nothing seems simple with this car, lol

Re: Key Fob Batteries

Yes, just a small slot scrwdriver about half a turn. The fixing screw is on a cam lock, so dont think its a true thread and start unwinding the screw all the way or you will bust it and pay £120 for a new fob.
