Re: "Service due" message

You CAN use and independent garage if you an find one who has the equipment to do it I would phone around first to find out before you go there (y) Argo went to National AA sevice centre and they couldnt do it so they had to pay a dealer to sort it as its part of the service obligation ;) Sorted crafty Argo he he :D

Re: "Service due" message

Its all stamped in my log book and it also had an MOT at the same time which I have the receipt of (emissions test etc)

I've got to ring a local FIAT garage up tomorrow to see if the car has already been in for that recall (front suspension springs) before I bought it - so i'll mention it and see what they say...

Yep, caught them on this two years running:

On leaving I say "...and you will make sure the service counter is reset and all the books are stamped after you've finished the service?"
Nationwide: "Certainly Sir!"

Both times they ended up taking my Stilo to the local main dealer (no idea what it cost them) :D

Nationwide Autocentre (Ringwood Rd, POOLE) get top marks for service from me (y)

Re: "Service due" message

Crafty!!

It won't do any harm if I ignore the message will it? (as it has been serviced)

Re: "Service due" message

Had my abarth serviced just before christmas at a non Fiat dealer and they reset the service spaner. I only take it to a garage i trust, have bad expeiance with dealers.

Re: "Service due" message

My Stilo has had the message for the last 2 1/2 years, with no effects.

Re: "Service due" message

50 quid???

Will it do any harm just having the message coming up? Eg, it won't stop anythng working will it? I can live with it rather than pay that amount of cash!

I DID MY OWN SERVICE STAMPED IT MY SELF AT WORK ( USED ALL FIAT FILTERS ETC ) MY MACHINE WOULDNT TURN OFF SPANNER LIGHT SO IT COST ME £15+VAT

Re: "Service due" message

Had mine on for a year now and no probs regarding that side of things

Cant believe cost as well to have it just reset

I also have had a claim on my 3rd year warrenty and had mine serviced at a private garage but stamped my book

The dealer saw i had service light on and asked if my book was upto date which it was and they said no prob they can sort the warrenty issue out for me no questions asked :)

Re: "Service due" message

I now have my car independently serviced, FIAT wanted £30 to reset the Service Due counter, so I haver driven around with it on for the last six months without any problems.

Cheers.

Re: "Service due" message

Depending on which model you have I just put a reminder on the Connect+ for both Mileage and date. Prompts me either way. Though I only got 7 months before it was due.

Day light robbery if ya ask me for 30 quid

Why is it so much???

Re: "Service due" message

£4000 on examiner & a further £2000 on accessories/registration etc plus annual fees/updates is heck alot of cash especially as most dealerships have 2 systems!
Therefore you would want to 'claw' alot of that money back kinda soonish, always good to have good relationship with dealer & get it cheap or get it done while getting other work done. Most dealers do these cheap services (£40-70) so it can be kinda worth it considering price of parts/oil disposal etc...I suppose that it takes say 15 minutes by time car taken into workshop, examiner connected & booted up & returned so i'd say £10-15 fairer price? Could always ignore it ;-)

Service for 40-70 quid? Who/Where/What? Kia Dealer whom I bought my JTD off serviced it prior handover but service indicator not reset and no ill effects... now 4 months on am close to JTD's next service :D

Re: "Service due" message

All major dealers (reg vardy, arnies, parks & alot of pendragon owned groups) do cheap services (out of warranty) for this price, some include MOT aswell for around £80-90.

Re: "Service due" message

My local garage (next door to where I work) reset the display for me. I was a bit surprised to find it done when I picked the car up.

Service Due Indicator

Is there a way of resetting the service light without going to the dealer?
