Hey,

I have a question for you guys & Gals!

My remote control on my keys were working for quite some time, then the battery died and i didnt replace it in time....4months later to be exact, I put a brand new battery into it and it didnt work. I contacted the Garage where i got my Stilo from and they said that they could sort it out for £35.

£35 quid to reset my key fob, two words!

So i ask, does anyone else know what i can do or does anyone know how to reset the fob?

Regards

We have places down here in Wales that can do this for us havnt you got anywhere the same by you ? much cheaper than dealer option

So this garage can reset kets for £15? Why can't they sort your car then?

Because the BCU is broken and you need to use this to code the key. (so I was told).

My understanding is you need blank key + code + code from bcu = working key.

Dont you mean ECU and not BCU and if your ecu is bust you can get it rebuilt and reprogramed got a site addy if you want it :)

From what my understanding serves, the only way of programming new keys is by connecting the Examiner into the Body Computer (what you call the BCU) and going through a procedure there, which will take the code from the CODE immobiliser node and imprint it on the key.
