Are you oop north T?
We haven't seen 1 in our workshop... Think its prob because we dont tend to have much snow therefore the roads aren't salted as often etc?

Thats a very good point mate.....years ago we had folk from ford up here because of warranty issues.Rear suspension/paintwork & problems getting drums off during warranty was nearly every car here but down south.........not one problem!
Turns out it was the grit that was the problem so all of you north of Watford...start writing to your local councils:rolleyes:

After reading the forum about the recall,I was ready to ring my dealer this morning. Before I could do this a letter arrived from the dealer telling me the problem, and asking me to ring the service dept.to bookthe car in.It said it would take approx. one hour, and a courtesey car would be available.I must give the dealer credit were due,A C Williams of Grantham they supplied the car(ex-demo) their service has been 1st class. The only thing they cannot manage to do is stop the wind noise at the top of the drivers door, but we will keep trying on that one.

off topic but i bought a punto hgt from a c williams, the only dealer that has been a delight to deal with, unlike the rest

I presume that means all letters will offer a courtesy car? I thought the letter would come from Fiat UK, not the dealer?

you should get a letter from fiat uk but most dealers will probably send mail to their existing customer's on their databases..

Courtesy cars can be arranged by all good dealers.

Ours are free but there is a £15 charge if you want to go on our insurance if not its worth giving your ins company a call to find out how much it'd cost you..

Not all dealers are the same though so some may not charge this at all..

Got my courtesy car free for a service but so they should for how much hassle (they wouldnt pick it up plus other stuff)and money i paid for it.
My dealer dont know anything still about this recall.
The tank-Mit LS200 double cab warrior BANK JOBBIN I WENT!

When I rang my dealer today they seemed a bit baffled when I was telling them, I bought my car 2nd hand so I doubt I'll get a letter, I'll just have to ring again next week (y)
I got mine 2nd hand, but still had a letter re the steering rack recall - only thing was, letter came 1 month after the dealership had done the work :spin:

Rang my dealer this morning,

They knew all about it, mentioned the letter and that i'd moved recently, they said FiatUK would probably use DVLA address
But then said, "lets just get it sorted now shall we"........ now booked in for friday morning, fitted while you wait, only half hour wait:slayer:
apparently is all the time allocated to work for techs ( apologies in advance to techs if wrong but this is what service manager told me:D )

They said no dismantling, just additional saftey mount fitted as mentioned in thread previously, shame as i was going to get them to fit my eibachs at the same time:cry: oh well will just have to do them myself after all

cheers
neil

I might be wrong in saying this but I'm sure FIAT have to pay VOSA to issue the recall, so no doubt VOSA will liase with the DVLA (both government agencies) to get the addresses of Stilo owners, and then pass that on to FIAT.

Which sounds like a long delay to me!!!

Any of us involved should go direct to dealer rather than waiting for the letter, lets get it sorted(y)
