Hi all
does anybody know if the tailgate handle on the MV is metal or plastic.
I have a 2004 model and it looks to have rust bubbles under the paint at the very ends of the handle.
I just know the dealer will say it's plastic or no it can't be rust it's only 2 years old but as the paint is not broken i can't tell.
And once the paint is broken it's to late then coz they will say it's come from the outside, in.

It looks like it's plastic on mine. It's not easy to say for sure though.

got hold of a magnet so if anybody's interested it's plastic.
But sure looks like rust bubbles

its alloy, mine was all scabby so it was sanded down and painted at the local paint shop..

Confirm above, had a look at mine and the bubbling is exactly as you would expect from aluminium corrosion. Fortunately ali. corrodes slowly and the oxidised layer actually helps protect the good metal underneath. Think I'll leave mine well alone.

This seems to be a common problem on MW tailgate handles as mine has exactly the same bubbling, another common fault to add to the list mefinks

I think i'll take french beans advice and leave it alone. You can only see it if you look hard.
