Reading reviews of the stilo they all say they can't tell you the service intervals because its controlled by the onboard computer. How does this work? Does it light up & tell you to get a service now? I do about 18k a year.

Thanks

Play with the mode button, you'll eventually find the service info, alternatively have a quick look at the manual! :I

To be honest its 12,000miles, but it give you a daily run down, counting down the days based on your milage. Also i believe you get 1000miles grace between the computer telling you it needs a service and getting it serviced, but if you miss that grace period then i'd assume your warranty will be invalidated. :I

I haven't brought one yet....So does that mean its not 12 months or 12k mile as in if you only did 6k a year it wouldn't need a service or does the computer know the date also?

the computer is programmed to call for a service every 20.000km no mather how long does it take to make the 20.000km.As Stiloboy said it tells you 1.000km earlier so you can plan the service and it needs to be ReSet on the service so it doesnt bother you with a "need service' message every time you start the car. its simple.[^]

I dont know about warranty invalidation ... i take mine a normal service every 10.000km

When I got my car (used) they had not reset the service indicator when it was last serviced. It flashes up service due everytime I start the car. I had the car in for some warranty work the other day and they said it needed a service. I explained what happened and thye said it was best to get it sorted next time as they didn't want to mess up the timing of the warning indicator as it was a while since it was last serviced.

No if you read the post, and all cars in general. You cover either a certain milage or 1 year.

So 12,000 miles or one year! :p

The service intervals are variating depend on the circumstances ... in my country the fuel can be very bad and low quality which results with more consumption and bigger damage on some of the parts.another reason for earlier service can be roads ... they really do vary from one country to another ... so be aware of that !
