Smile How to check a battery (abarth)

Hi, Does anybody know how to check a battery. I had a EOBD warning light today, and convinced the battery is the cause. I own a multimeter and am quite, electrically literate
The battery health display doesnt show green, but i would like to check it to make sure before i buy a new battery. Cant find any posts on here saying how this is done.

Any ideas?

same as any other car.
to check the battery get a battery dishcharge test done.most fast fit places do one free
check the charging system by running the multimeter over the battery engine running.should see around 12volts+
turn on a load of electrics and it should go up to 13-14+volts

Re: How to check a battery (abarth)

Each cell is 2.1volt thus you are looking at 12.6v.

However this doesn't take surface charge into account therefore a proper load tester is more reliable(as custard stated),please take it to a dealer & get a printout of the battery status & if it needs changed use genuine Fiat battery(dealers have recently been supplied a list of updated battery numbers/rating to use)otherwise get a cheap one & watch those warning lights/messages come on

Exclamation Abarth misfire....

Reading my manual might suggest a problem with the catalytic convertor?
As the problem is intermittent, i'm thinking it may possibly be a lambda sensor?
Anybody got any info on how much are.............

1) New catalytic convertor
2) Lambda sensor (how many are there)?
3) A diagnosis on the examiner at Fiat?

Any info would be greatly aprciated!

Just interested to know if you have sorted this problem cause I am getting the same warning message. Engine flat spots around 2500-4000 and warning comes on. I throttle off and warning goes off. I hope it is something simple
