Bonjour

Can someone post up a picture from the tech CD of where the starter motor is?

I need to replace it as it is sticking......................

Fanks!
what engine ? my 1.6 has the starter at the front of the gear box , really easy to get to , dont tighten the bolts really tight as they screw into the aluminium bell housing and might strip .

jack it up or put the drivers side wheels on the kerb , go under from the front , just in front of the g.box ,one bolt is at the bottom the other at the top , ya cant see the top bolt so just feel around the motor , ya need a 13mm spanner to undo the bolts , disconnect ya battery before takin the starter main cable off , hope this helps , not sure how much a motor costs i work at a factors and have never priced one , but will tomorrow , dave

Starter motor nearly dead, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't!

Fiat want £84 to supply the thing, Tuesday/Wednesday at the earliest, or they will fit it for £165 inclusive, they really do take the urine out of customers!

My local independant is doing it for me on Tuesday, £100 all in with original Fiat parts.

What is wrong with Fiat dealerships, are they all tossers or is it just STONEACRE Fiat of Peterborough?

Most franchised dealers will charge heaven and earth.

I've recently discovered a discrepency in 2 dealers local to me, who seem to make up the prices to suit themselves, 1 wants to charge me £25 for the Pollen filter, whilst the other can do it for £10 inc vat. I checked the Part Numbers, they were identical.

From what I've seen/read elsewhere this is common place, you would think there would be a fixed price for parts from Fiat dealers.

At last!

The starter arrived this morning, fitted and all is good in the world again.

Mind you, trying to get that bloody top bolt in was a nightmare, you need small ladies hands, I really struggled with that, nearly asked my Mrs to have a go, thought better of it though!

I'm back on the road, the ZX6R can go back in the garage now...........
