We have a Stilo GT 2.4 3 DR Manual!

Well some of you may know that I work for a Fiat main dealer.

Well on Monday we had a Stilo GT dropped off.

Its in techno grey

Haven't driven it properley yet so can't make any comparisons to the Abarth yet/

I'll get some pics posted too.

Fiat should have had a manual Stilo Abarth from day one.

Agreed, and given the choice at the time, I would have probably opted for the manual. But I couldn't do without my selaspeed and my next car will either have to be an auto or another selaspeed style box.

Sounds like a cracking car!

Heard anything about the new Stilo Multijet? Thats the one I'd be interested in as my next car.

I was down at Gainmanor the other week, at your place in the Tyne Tunnel Estate, to get a second opinion on the damage a jealous 405 did to my 4 week old stilo! I was really impressed with the car I spoke to at the time.

Interrestingly, Jamjar have had the GT listed for ages now, its currently at around 11k I believe? Though what Jamjar offer for sale, and what they can actually get are often two different things;)

Is it the samo engine from the Abarth?nothing extra done on it?Just the gearbox is different?

I was expecting a more radical one ... with a more powerfull engine something like 200bhp would be nice!

The GT is (assuming the UK spec hasn't changed again) pretty basic compared to the Abarth. In addition to the gearbox change the following items are 'missing':

Dual Zone Climate
Cruise Control
Connect Nav+
comfort pack 1 (parking/rain/dusk sensors)

I make that £2300 worth of goodies - do the maths - still want a GT ?

Is the idea not to have it as more of a stripped out quick car rather then a quick luxury barge?

I think that may be the case Steve, it would make it more of a 'hot hatch' contender, more in line with the Civic type R, though still not a stripped out.

Like I said above, you can get one of these from Jamjar for 11K, which, considering it is basically dynamic spec, is still a well equiped car, good value imo.

Though the Abarth is also v.cheap through Jamjar!

Hi,

I agree with Barbarian on this one - I couldn':Dt live without the selespeed or an auto box now

I also enjoy pressing resume on the cruise control from a low speed so that the car accelerates and changes gear by itself - the more you have the accelerator pressed down when 'resuming' the faster it accelerates.

One thing that erally pigs me off about the cruise control is that it switches the damn gearbox into automode and leaves it there when you turn off the cruise control.

It's also got a bug - if you stick it on at 40mph in 4th gear (e.g. through roadworks with speed cameras up hill) and then after a while accelerate slightly - when you back off the throttle slightly it gets confused and slips the clutch changing between 4th & 5th gears. Bizzarely it changes up to 5th as you accelerate and down to 4th when you lift off the throttle!

And as far as the GT goes, I still think the price difference is too small compared to the Abarth.
