Heeey Guys
My Stilo Jtd MW is coming upto 3 now, and basically as the warranty is going to run out, i cant be bothered forking out for the Fiat service cause of cost etc.
I am going to service the car myself, however the fuel filter looks a bit "dodgy" to say the least.
I can get a new one no prob, but i was wondering, do i merely take of the old one, put the new one in place and purge using the screw at teh bottom, or is there a different way of doing it to avoid filling my engine with "air" lol?

BTW i am looking at buying a JTD service kit, consists of brand new Fuel filter, Air filter, and oil filter for aour £33, which i think doesn;t sound too bad?
What ya think?
I've recently upgraded the front discs to Grooved and dimpled EBC ones with OMP pads, total cost - £170, and they kick Fiats originals into touch
Anyway someone let me know re the filter please, plus one las tthing has anyone ever had to pay to get the timing belt?/chain? replaced on their JTD, if so how much did it cost?, i want to know cause when it reaches that mileage when it becomes necessary to replce it the cost wont shok me too much.
Thanks
Rob

I think you will find that your JTD is nigh on self bleed just make sure you prefill the filter as much as possible with diesel before you screw it back in place (y) you don't say where you are buying the service kit from but i would have thought its Shop4 parts if its not from here it may be worth checking their prices also before you buy and finally the front discs are very good I agree I have them on the back as well only they are OMP but EBC on the front there are others who have them as well Super Stroogle Stu is one that comes to mind but I'm sure there are others good luck with the filter change I haven't met you before so Hi there I'm Phil aka ROLF ;)

Please could you let us know if it was a simple job or give some hints if its a sod.
BTW where do you get the £33 kits from ?

Cheers

Going to do it this week fingers crossed, cheers guys,
I will get the link to the guy selling the kits, and reply back with it
Its a guy of Ebay but used him before and he;s very reliable

Cheers
Rob

Forget the Ebay guy, people, Its about 27p to get the same stuff of shop 4 parts, so i'll use them.

So its a quick swerve away from Fiat for me when it comes to servicing from now on!
