Hey guys. being a bit lazy the other day I was reversing into a slot at the local Tesco, and nearly banged into the car behind me, been getting to used to the reversing sensors, which are ace, WHEN YOU CAN HEAR THEM! :bang: I confess I had some pretty loud heavy metal action going on, but the reverseing sensor volume doesn't increase to compensate, which seams daft to me.
Anyhoos, the point of all this is, does anyone know how to change the volume of the reversing sensor ?

p.s. I was in the states not that long ago and the hire car we had changed the volume of the stereo at speed to cut out the increased road noise! and it also increased the reverse parking warning aswell. I think it must have worked off an internal microphone, which my Stilo has as part of the sat nav hands free phone.:worship:

It can't be changed - it's just a buzzer with a +12V feed controlled by the Parking Sensor Node as to when it is required.

Bugger! Do you know where the buzzer is located roope? Might be able to put a pcb together at work which would increase the volume of the buzzer dependant on back ground noise.

Indeed I do! Not gonna tell though . . . :p

It's behind the drivers side lower C pillar trim; to remove it, undo some screws, pull the popper out and gently prise it down from the upper C pillar trim. If it's a 3dr you'll need to gently pull the rear trim panel away to allow you to undo another screw.

Good luck :D

Seems pretty loud to me as it is - can't imagine anyone wanting it louder!

Strikes me it would make more sense to have the parking sensor mute the stereo.

Now that is a better idea! When you go into reverse, the stereo is muted to allow you to hear the beeps. That will probably be ALOT easier to wire up. Top Idea.:slayer:

That reverse sensor could be quite handy, everytime I park up, when I get out I'm miles away from the car behind, it's so deceiving how small the rear end is.

I just love the parking sensors. Even if you keep your nerve and keep reversing until the wine goes constant (the sensor limit) - you're still about 6 inches away!

The Stilo looks/feels like a big car but it's amazing how small a space you can get it into.

Mind you, I sometimes park next to a guy who owns a Porsche who always seems to park within inches of concrete pillars and the like. One day I said to him "Does your motor provide some form of digital readout to allow you to get so close to things?". "No - it just beeps at me" he said. "I just keep going back until I touch the wall - and now I've got used to it"

Please help me. Is the original parking sensors connect to red cable? On boot right side.
