General Abarth gearbox

I have had "gearbox failure" this week on my 3 month old panda, I was stranded at the vets with my dog and disabled son. Not impressed! Dealer messing me around and now tell me it is the selespeed unit which needs replacing. They have no idea when it will be done as it has to be ordered in. GREAT!!!

Have been driving mine for two weeks now, just useing the gearstick and not the paddles no alarm!!!

Ok sorry for no reply. The stealers had my motor for 3 weeks (I gave them a list of things to fix:D ) And boy did I PAY for it:mad:  After that I have been having so much fun driving it that it has been another 3 weeks since and no faults with anything?

The gearbox fault was only the brake (pedal I think) switch. They removed it, cleaned it, replaced it and hey presto, no faults!

Word of advice to all though, This fault, they say they found on the "examiner". So sometimes we can hum and haw about what the faults are only to let the pros have a go and find out that it is something quite simple.

Did you get yours fixed yet? Hope the fault is something similar?

Common Stilo fault, causes problems with ABS/ASR/EBD/ESP warnings too (and brake lights sticking on, although I've been told how to fix that :))

Hi DA

Sorry for not replying, have been bikeing across Europe,German GP,Czech WSB!!!.

Have done nothing about mine, just changed gear with the gear stick and not the paddles, had the alarm off a few times, have noticed changing down to first clears the problem, deletes it of the screen and have carried on!!,car has been stood for two weeks while on holiday, used it today and seems fine famous last words, what did they do to yours in the end??
