****... my right hand (+) paddle simply fell off this morning, can't see how this could have happened... bit pissed off really, i'll bet it's ridiculously expensive too! Anyone know or had any experience with these things or any tecchies have any light to shed? It's just one thing after another with FIAT (my bloody Bravo was the same!)

Believe me, other marques are just the same, not just FIAT ;)

Anyway, there was someone breaking a Stilo recently; not sure if the paddles got nabbed or not, but worth a shot. It was stripey_stilo's mate.

I will have a look on ePer as well, try and get a guide price [unless someone wants to do that for me :p]

You have to buy them as a pair don't you? £90 I think.

heya,

Cheers for posting on the thread. I believe my right hand paddle has snapped from the housing in which it sits on the wheel. The paddle itself is spring loaded (which I think has buggered too!)

My car spends most Saturday mornings down at my local Fiat Garage anyway (they are still trying to fix my seat, but after telling me to buy a new switch it still hasn't worked and they're now claiming its a wiring/power problem... these guys have no idea!)

Anyway i asked them to look into the paddle thing next time it's in but i may just have your part and try to sort it myself.

I've just been given the prices for my Stilo repairs and they've actually quoted me £152 for the selespeed paddle (they come as a pair but I only need one!)

If anyone needs to replace the left hand (downshift paddle) we could do a deal!!!???!!!

#2
this is on top of a new number plate bulb holder £20+Vat (when I thought it was just a bulb)

#3
Front Brake pads supplied & fitted £89

#4
£70 labour to repair wiring problem - linkage between the seat and the fuse box in the boot.

They've quoted me £375 for the lot! hmmmm:confused: :(

I also need a new petrol flap (it just fell off!)
:bang:

Might do the brakes myself and leave the numberplate... but still... the paddle is the main problem.

Any clues?

how much and how quick...

i dont want the whole wheel... Fiat buy them in seperate so you must be able to fit seperate. I've had a look/feel and there is a small hole behind the paddle and it seems it may just screw in (once the wires are connected/disconnected)

Unless you can do it really cheap I may just opt for fiat as it's less hassle and if it goes wrong it's not my fault.

OH my god I don't believe it, I'm not the only one then, it happened to me on Friday, the + paddle shift broke off. I was horribly disgusted to see it was held on by a small piece of plastic.

i told u you i could get you 1

Hi, believe it or not this has happened to me on Friday, can you get the part, I would be eternally greatful as I'm not prepared to par £150 as quoted by the original poster.

I think stripey was stripping down a mate's Stilo or something at the time, he doesn't have an endless supply of them :chin:

damn, i need one too, broke the other day (it always left a little loose), now the plastic bottom bit has just snapped and it wont stay in place, anyone have 2 working ones? maybe we can put them into a box and leave it for a couple of months and see if they breed.

Which one do you need, I need the +, please tell me you need the - (minus). We could go half on a set.

Ok so I phoned around now, the part number is 71718769 and Reg Vardy in Reading (0118 9608606) will do it for £111 ex vat.

Let me know if you are interested!

Hi Guys, my + paddle fell off on friday, and the - one was on its way out.

Just wanted to let you know its a fairly easy fix, three alan key nuts and two star head screws.

I took my steering wheel apart yesterday and with some trusty super glue they are as good as new. Took about an hour.

Or you could place a bid for the chap thats got a brand new pair on ebay.
