Stilo Owners.....How About Some Support?

Hi Guys

Below is a posting that SANDO made. If you guys agree then say so, if not then support me when I say the Stilo is a superb car!

Quote form SANDO

"And that is your opinion. My opinion is that the Stilo is pretty ugly and isnt inspiring at all at this time. Look around at all the other manufacturers new cars coming out? Vauxhall's new astra? Vauxhall VX220 turbo? Ford Fiesta? Ford Focus? They are all producing awe inspring controversial styling that does actually work. The Focus is a few years old now but looks just as fresh against all the new cars coming out now.

No wonder Fiat is in trouble. They produced a cracking looking car with the Fiat Punto mk2 and went and messed it all up with the mk3! What the hell is going on?

They own Ferrari and Maserati, they must use all the stylists on the new Ferraris and then have boring bast*rds designing the Fiats.

You drive around in an ugly-boxy-MPV-dated Stilo IMO....flame me if you will, I just couldnt give a f*ck.

Matt"

Well now you've read it, let's have some response!

Savi.:D

OK OK... I'll concede that the VX220 is a great looking car, I still have difficulty in beleiving it's made by vauxhall, but when next to the Focus and Fiesta et al, the looks of the Stilo are way out there.

Is this guy for real??? My friend had a 1800 DDTI turbo Diesel focus, which comes in Ghia trim. Sure, it was a great car and performed very well, but the styling was plain at best, nothing to stand out. As for the Fiesta, they tried and failed to look like a punto!!!

I will concede that the 5door Stilo is a little plain and the MPV is down to personal taste, but the 3-dr looks fantastic by anyones tastes as far as I can tell.

Fiat have certainly not been conservative with styling in recent years. You only have to look at the Multipla, good god that's an ugly car, but at least the designers were not afraid to experiment a little, unlike those working for Vauxhall and Ford. (the vauxhall designers must have been on drugs when they designed the VX220.. :D)

Rant over.

Vauxhall VX220? It may be a good car but it's that badge on the front that puts me off. I'd rather have the Lotus Elise. As for style, just what the heck is the Vectra all about then?

I'd hardly call the Ford range "awe inspiring" either with cars that all look the same. Mind you, that new Capri does look interesting....

The VX220 is a superb looking and sounding car...
I can understand why Vauxhall is in the same sentence as "awe inspring controversial styling" BUT FORD!!!!!

ARE YOU MAD??????

Have you seen the pictures of the new Focus and the Focus Estate??

Its as bland and boring as a mushy pea!
Ford are CRAP Cars!! Take a look at the Ford Kack I mean Ka.

You can have your opinion but its a poor opinion...

Have you actually seen a 3 door Abarth or a Dynamic like mine up close and personal and then try comparing it with the Ford Focus???

Its impossible cos the ford focus is dull and s**te and looks like it was built with meccano!
The Stilo is gorgeous!!

Compare also with the VW Golf - the interior is bland and it may well be well built but its bland as anything...

I do like the interior of the new Astra (not out yet) I however do not like the exterior - compare it with the concept car that vauxhall produced and you get a totally different car!

Btw have you seen the Vauxhall VX220 ECO Speedster.... its the sports car that does 110mpg or something ridiculous even when doing 130mph
and Guess what engine it has???
a modified FIAT MULTIJET 1.3 !!!

All the Italian cars distinguish for 3 main reasons and when i say all i mean ALL!!!
1)Styling.Lot of companies take italian designers for their new cars check out Daewoo,Mercedes, and the whole Group VW
2)Brakes.In Greece a car magazine called AutoTriti tested 7 categories of cars if you remove the 3 categories of the OFF ROAD theres 4 left in these 4 categories the 3 cars that came first are all Italian.Dont forget FIAT invented the hydraulic brakes and the first EBD that where in some versions of Miraffiori.
3)Engines.Flexuous and nervous engines maybe in electric wheir not so good but the engines are perfect from every view. When the other cars use to move like they have batteries in 1911 Fiat made an engine 28.353cc with 290hp and brake the world record reaching 290klm in one mile!!!.In 1919 23 Fiats first time in history cross the desert Sahara and made 3000 miles with no problem at all.
If FIAT wasnt here all the car companies would be at least 100 years behind.
And dont tell me about Ford and the style of their cars cause their best car dont even reach even the smallest cars of Fiat.
Fiat PANDA won here in Greece the prize of the Car Of The Year 2004 pretty cool huh?And if you want sport and supersport cars FIAT has Alfa Romeo and all her other companies for this job;)
Italian Cars Rules!!!

Well as i work for FORD Cyprus i can say about the comparison between FORD Focus and FIAT Stilo. The Focus is an excelent car. It feels very nice in the road and has quality. BUT DONT TELL ME IT HAS THE STYLE COMPARING TO STILO. Come on. I sit in my office and i look outside of the window, and i see my black beauty parked near Focus and Fiestas. Believe me there is no comparison. Stilo may be poor in quility comparing to Focus but styling. Also yesterday i was talking to an ex-rally driver and we were comparing the power of our cars. He's got a Focus 1.6. He told me that i have an advantage, i own an Italian car and it's ment to have more power than any other car.
That's all.

Hi People

Here is SANDOs latest quote!

"You really have got a Stilo complex, havnt you? Merely telling people to go and buy one wont increase the numbers of those overgrown barges on our roads.

Matt"

What do you make of this one?

Yes. I insulted his Cinq because of these comments below.

And yes you are correct SANDO is only 20 so it is acceptable that he has different opinions.

I am being serious![}:)]

Yep, you are right Lester, it's just that some people have very strong opinions and if they do, I do too!

If you have nothing nice to say, you should say nothing at all. But if you say something s**t to me I'll say something twice as s**t to you! Good philosophy or what?

Sorry, that's just the way it is!:p
