Exclamation Just put this on!

Ok so i've been talking recently about geting a back box for my stilo. had some great advice off StiloSporting and KoArAng. Thanks guys.

Anyway I wanted the backbox more for cosmetic reasons than anything else and due to insurance increases (yes I know i don't have to declare it but I would prefer to!) and other more important things that the money could go to (doing up house at moment!) I have opted for a simple tail pipe cover. Maybe get an exhaust next year!

Anyway here it is! What do you think? Sorry but the pics were taken in the dark and after i'd just washed the car!

I know a back box would be better and that the general feeling for tailpipes is that they are chav and crap, however im quite pleased with the result and its certainly a thousand times better than the standard piece of crap! It subtle and doesn't look too ad on IMHO!

So my quetion is this: Why didn't those designers at FIAT do this to start with? or at least offer a simple add on accessory in the Brio catalogue?

Re: Just put this on!

That dont look too sad mate, much better looking than some of the tail pipes ive seen on the Stilo, did you have to modify the standard tail pipe at all to make it fit?

Re: Just put this on!

Unfortunately I (uncle) did have to weld a new pice of straight 50mm OD pipe onto the backbox after cutting the dirty downward pipe off.

Wouldn't have bothered normally but obviously my uncle (panel beater) did this for free and it took him 10 mins.

Had to also adjust the spacing of the backbox where it bolts to chassis.
