Software version.. (again??)

Hi all,

Have been reading about the software version discussions. Am still a bit confused.. the 9.7 version is that for the ConnectNav+ ??
Friday I wrote an E-mail to Fiat in the Netherlands and got a reply from them that there isn't an upgrade available for my system.
My Stilo 1.9JTD MW 80 is equipped with a ConnectNav running on software version 7.2 (at least that shows in the bottom right corner when the system starts up)
My colleague got his Stilo last friday and his software version is even older than mine. He is running on 7.1
The answer I got from the customer care call center of Fiat was that I should contact Navtech?? As far as I know they supply the maps..
Wouldn't the manufacturer of the ConnectNav write the software uipgrade??

The maps are nothing to do with the Software.

Current version for SatNav+ is v9.7
Not sure if it applies SatNav though.
Go back and tell your dealer.

I just got my car serviced in the UK - I asked for an upgrade of the ConnectNav+ and got 9.7.

Definitely a job for the dealer.

I have the connect Nav also and it is on 7.1, the software does differ from that of the connect nav+ they are upto 9.7 i believe and the connect nav is either 7.1 or 7.2 but no higher than that as i understand it. I brought mine in August brand new and the dealer even contacted fiat to find out about updates for me.

I got my Stilo on September 11 and have indeed the 7.2 software, my colleague that collected his last friday (14-11)however has the 7.1 version.
So at least for him we know there is an software upgrade avaiable.
Have to contact my dealer anyway, to see if the parts that the headmechanic (poor guy) damaged on my car are in yet.
Is there a site somewhere of the manufacturer of the SatNav/ConnectNav where there is information available on software versions?

be careful.

you will lose every information on your navetech if you upgrade.
