Angry Seems expensive

1.6 Dynamic 52 reg, I had 20.000 mile service last December (only done 15.000) I have just been phoned by Fiat dealer Sheffield to get my service again (32.000) only done 20.000 miles. they want well over £300, which seems a lot for 5.000 miles motoring

Talking Re: Seems expensive

I just had my Stilo Abarth serviced on Tuesday and I was very surprised at how little they charged me for the service. It was it's first service, 20.000km, but I have only done 14.500km. I also had a list as long as my arm of things I wanted them to check (like brake discs, pads, suspension, CO2, airfilter, wheel alignment, wheel balancing, etc. etc.).
When I dropped off the car, the service manager said it would cost in the region of R1200 (£100), which I thought was quite reasonable. When I fetched my car later that afternoon, I was only charged R700 (£58) which included the labour costs, new oil filter, oil, sundries, and giving the car a valet.
To put this into perspective, the same service on my previous car cost me R1300 after they quoted me R1000.
AND they did a very neat job, AND they did everything I asked them to do.

Nah... not where I live. I very rarely lock my front door, and it' so hot at the moment I leave the back door open almost all of the time.

You are thinking of Gauteng also known as Johannesburg (up north), I live close to Cape Town (down south) on a smallholding (small farm). I don't even own a gun (unless an air-rifle counts )

Sure there's crime, but you get that everywhere.

Apologies. My cousin visited Cape Town and Jo-berg last Christmas and it was indeed the latter where she was aware of her security most; like the hotel doorman taking the number of the taxi she was in and promising the driver that if anything happened the fuzz would be straight round. How odd.

Re: Seems expensive

My 24k service was about £160/£180 - cant remember which. While its under warrenty paying that little more saves false-economy later.

Re: Seems expensive

Remember, you do not have to go to the main stealer for servicing. To keep warranty use Genuine parts and keep to the servicing schedule by ANY VAT registered garage. That is the Law.
