Soon to be Stilo owner???

I currently own a mk2 punto Go! which I've had for about a year and i feel like a change (I get bored easily) so i'm looking at stilo's now.

I have a budget of around £4000 and i'd want the 1.6. What i want to know is:

-are Stilo's reliable-ish (i know it's a FIAT)

-what kind of car would i get for my money? Age, Engine spec and goodies inside the car like traction control etc.

and also i'd want a 3 door because i don't like the rear end on the 5 door.

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

Hi there!

Hmmm, reliable some guys on here have no issues, and some of us do - it seems the earlier versions were prone to a few more problems, which have now been ironed out on later models.

As for £4000 - probably will only get an older model - tbh, I am not sure of current prices.

Good call on the 3 door though - the 5 door styling at the rear isn't that great.

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

I reckon a JTD on a 52 plate would be high mileage - let me have a quick look around eBay and see what recent Stilos have gone for, purely as a guide...

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

Ok, recent JTD sales:

A 53 plate, 32k £5175 reserve not met http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-FIAT-STIL...QQcmdZViewItem

Hmmm, that's it!

Found this though, which didn't sell:

EDIT - re above auction - sold without reserve per listing BUT reserve not met.....

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

52 reg JTD would probably go for £5.5k - £6k unless it has silly mileage. They tend to hold their value the best of all the models. £4k will get you an 51 or 02 plate 1.6 active (poverty spec). There are plenty of petrol Stilos about but few JTDs.

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

found this for £4000, to be honest you wont really find many stilo's this low in price yet? as the oldest is about a 51' reg and a poverty spec at that for £4k...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-FIAT-STIL...QQcmdZViewItem

or for the extra £1k + your £4k = £5k what i fink your looking for:

EDIT: You mite be in luck check this baby out, just depends on the reserve! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-STILO-16V...QQcmdZViewItem

there is a few others on ebay atm, check them out buddy!

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

Even the 1.2 is worth about £4k. So it'll either be a highish milage 1.6 or a really high milage JTD! But of course the JTD can typically cope with high milage.

Re: Soon to be Stilo owner???

ok so i've looked around and i've seen a few 1.8 dynamic's for around the 5k mark so when I get my 1 yr ncb in january i'll have a good look round and see if I can find any in my area because they're very rare.
