Hi All

My teenage son is now the proud owner of his own car. As with most cars he now has the problems that go with it, annoyingly the heater does not work at all. I've seen the YouTube video about the resistor on the punto is this the issue here also, if so could anyone help me fix it.

Thanks a pressured Dad, please dad fix it please..........

Welcome to Fiat forum.

What engine has your son's new ride got, just for information?

Does your lad's car have the digital climate control of the 3 twisty plastic nobs?

If it was me I'd start with the basics and check the fuses. I've got my manual here in front of me for reference (my car is a 2004 3 door - yours may differ); according to my manual heater / climate control is 10 amp fuse location F39 - which is the fuse panel under the steering wheel.

If you open the drivers door and kneel down next to the car, looking at the steering wheel you'll notice that the panel that runs around the steering column has a handle you can pull down to open. This opens up and you'll see a fuse board in there.

You want fuse F39, which should be top row, second in from the right.

Start with that and we'll see how we go from there.

Hi and thank you for your message.

We have checked the f39 fuse and it seems to be in perfect condition, do you have any other ideas?

The engine is a 2006 1.4 active sport and it has the 3 knobs for climate control.

Many thanks Lee

OK. If it's the fan speed resistor the fans should only work on maximum speed, so have a see if the fan will work on max setting (4?).

I'm guessing you're trying the different settings and you can't hear anything from the fan motor. It's not exactly a quiet thing, so if it was coming on you'd hear it.

On the manual controls only the fan speed is done electronically, the other two, mixer flap (cold to hot) and air direction settings are all done by cables attached to the back of the dials.

You might be arriving at the point where you just stick 12v across the blower motor and see if it goes or not.
