Please tell me your thoughts about the problem occured.

At February I changed the engine in my Stilo so the compressor and all the pipes of the A/C were empty for about 10days.

Then we fill the system as it should but the situation is the following:

The compressor does not engage always when I turn a/c on and if this happens I have to switch of the engine and turn it on again to engage the compressor.

I thought It would be wrong amount of r134 so today do a full vaccuum , put 550gr r134 plus oil and all seemed to be ok for some hours and the again the compressor did not engaged one time...

What would be the cause;

Faulty pressure sensor; There is no leak...
Relay?
Compressor itself?

Something else;

This exactly I describe.

Not always hearing the "click" meaning the engagement.

It happens every morning or If I don't use the car for >4hours.

Then I have to switch on off the engine 2-3times to make the compressor work(engage)

Any thoughts?

I can't think of anything that would cause the compressor to not engage first time you switch it on, but engage second or third time.

You could try:
Check the power supply connection to the compressor clutch is clean.
If the compressor has a separate earth wire, check that it is clean and tight.
A different compressor clutch relay (T5 in the engine fuse box).
Check that fuse F19 and it's sockets in the engine fuse box are clean.

If you have the 1.2 engine, the A/c has a separate frost thermostat that stops the compressor engaging below 3°C, but I doubt it's below 3°C in Greece now. (I hope not anyway...... I'm going to Kerkyra next week). :)

I checked the T5 relay, replaced it but not luck.

I didn't check F19 fuse , I will give it a try.

The temperature is 3°C below 43 so dont think its the thermostat!Davren I wish you happy holidays and if your way is from Drama we can arrange a meeting!

Is it possible a bad earth cause this?

Could a worn compressor don't engage always?I get a spare compressor in excellent condition, like new, but its the last I want to do (the compressor replacement)

It would only be the compressor if the electro-magnetic clutch was faulty. Try disconnecting the supply wire to the compressor and connecting 12 volts direct to the compressor terminal. If the clutch engages every time you try, then the problem is not the compressor.

Thanks.... I would be good to meet for a Mythos or 2, but I'm only going for 2 weeks this time, so flying direct to Corfu. I only go past Drama when I drive to Romania then to Corfu. Next year perhaps.

Finally I found the problem, it was the low pressure switch located near the A/C radiator.

Now its working fine and compressor engage always!

The good part is I found how the Dual Zone Clima works and all its functions, especially the "Full Auto" which is astonishing...I think that its one of the best Dual Zone Clima I ever tried...
