Kevlar is a super strong manmade fibre most commonly known for use in bullet resistant vests.
Kevlar is also now used by some manufacturers in timing belts.
Timing belt failure of a Kevlar timing belt is usually the teeth are stripped from the belt but the belt doesn't snap.

i was reading yesterday about kevlar belts on few forums and they were typing that kevlar belt is making more stress on water pump and pulleys and cuz it lasts longer you need to change pump and pulleys more often
so its no use getting kevlar belt in the long run

If the belt is fitted properly how can it put more stress on associated components?
How do you know if the belt you get from your supplier is Kevlar or not?
