Hi guys,

Someone got into our house yesterday and stole my keys and our Corsa vxr.
The problem is they also had my stilo multiwagon key on it.
I've disabled the car for now and have one spare key but like some help moving forward.

I need to change locks etc, is it possible to disable the fob aswell as that's the one they have.

I also want a new fob enabled.
I don't want to pay a fortune so may just consider changing the ignition and door lock but need to disable the remote central locking. Any help appreciated.

Any sensitive info please pm tho people. We don't want any others going missing.

Cheers guys

sorry to hear that..:(

personally.
I'd consider the merits of piling it all on the house insurance claim,
you'll only lose the 1 set of bonuses , after all..

a decent auto locksmith can probably sort this for CHEAP..
maybe just rearranging the tumblers in each barrel, then recoding a new chip.

are you located near to ponsaloti or minirib..??

We had the locks changed on the house straight away.but car isnt worth the excess and potential price hikes. Going to see if i can get a lock locally. For me its more about disabling the key they have. Unsure where those guys are but fine to travel.
Corsa has been recovered so sorting that alone and change locks on the stilo.

Mate, sorry to hear this. I hope you and family are all safe and well - that's the main thing. Can be bloody scary if this happens whilst you're at home.

If you don't have any keys currently cut that will fit the vehicle then you're right, you may as well change the locks. They're all bolt on parts.

The only other way to get round this is to order a brand new key from Fiat, expect this to cost above £200. That will come pre-cut to fit the car.

Gaining entry to the car could be an issue if it was deadlocked although if you've disabled the car you've probably overcome this.

You ask about disabling keys Yes this can be done. You will need your car's security code, available from your Fiat dealer for around £30. They can get it instantly as a downloadable code from Retainer Group, where they're centrally held. Sturgess Fiat have an agreement for Fiat Forum members that they will provide for around half this if you ring them up and tell them you're a forum member. Expect whoever you order the code from to want to see a copy of the V5 and possibly some ID too.

You will need a registered version of MultiECUScan and an ELM cable. MultiECUScan licence is 50 euros I think, around £40. an ELM cable is around £15. eBay search for MultiECUScan and get one of the modified can compatible cables.

If you're anywhere near Grimsby North East Lincolnshire I'll happily lend my time and cable along with laptop which has the software.

You will need to run the remote programming and key programming functions in MultiECUScan. You simply program all the keys you have in your possession. You have to reprogram all keys, even ones you already have. Any keys previously programmed but dont get programmed again (i.e. the stolen ones) will be automatically blocked by the car's ECU and so won't work.

Of course the key blade would physically work in the door unless you change it.

I can't comment on changing key barrels and igintion barrel as I've never done it but they are all essentially bolt on parts.

Cheers guys, this may mean the end to my stilo journey soon.

Thank you so much, I will try and get the key code tomorrow when they are open.
So much grief involved changing house locks, car locks and sorting the stolen car out. Also so disheartening people do this. I know I'm not the first and won't be the last but it's a terrible feeling.

I may have access to a stilo set of locks and keys which is great.
So just need my key code and mes and elm.
Really appreciate the offer, we are in Birmingham so a little to far unfortunately.
If anyone locally has mes and an elm it would be massively appreciated.

I could then at least wipe the keys they have and just have the locks to worry about.

Cheapest option is go to a good autolocksmith and get him to re-programme the existing fiat and Vauxhall keys.
This will wipe the stolen fiat key and he can cancel the stolen Vauxhall key.
He may also be able to pull the codes rather than you paying for them from the Dealers.

I do try and keep you guys in mind,:)

is my idea of swapping the order of the "tumblers" in the barrel actually workable..??

same lock and parts.. just need a new key blank cut to suit the shuffled profile.:chin:

Yes mate, a cheap option but not possible on all locks as some locks are put together and parts are crimped together by a machine or press.
Sometimes they wont re-assemble.
